Tabletop Tuesday

Happy Tabletop Tuesday, friends!  We LOVE eating outside.  This Alabama heat doesn’t allow for it as often as I’d like, but sometimes it’s bearable and the kids always enjoy when we do it!  It’s just so much fun changing it up sometimes and eating outside does just that.  We do it a lot more in the Spring and Fall.

Recently we had a Mexican flare dinner outside and I thought I’d share our tabletop and menu because it was really yummy!  The chicken recipe is Pioneer Woman’s lime chicken.  You can easily find the recipe online.  We all really enjoyed it and as you can see, we added some fresh jalepenos, too.  You certainly can leave those off if spicy isn’t your thang!  We love spicy around here.

I also have started baking my corn rather than boiling.  I had never tried this until last summer, but I found this recipe and we love it.  Bake at 375 for 30 minutes with a small amount of butter (wink, wink).  Add Monterey Jack cheese and set back in oven briefly until melted.  Add cilantro for garnish.  Y’all!  So, so good!  You certainly can omit the cheese and cilantro if you prefer.  Sometimes I’ll just add the butter and a little Lawry’s seasoning salt.  Really good either way.

I made guacamole for an appetizer and this is always a family favorite.  My kids will literally eat it with a spoon and we can really spend a small fortune on avocados.  Haha!   I don’t really go by a specific recipe for this.  It seems I’m always changing it up with a little of this and a little of that.  Haha!

Most everything you see on the table I have collected over the years from Homegoods.  It is by far my most favorite go-to for all things table. The yellow gingham napkins came from Pier One.

I hope this inspires you to enjoy dinner outside with your sweet family soon.  It sure has been something we have enjoyed so much recently!  Love you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here!!!  I greatly appreciate your support, “likes” on my posts, comments and messages!  They mean the world to me.  Hugs!

  1. What a fun summer table!! Your meal looks delicious! Im definitely going to try the corn recipe. And Home Goods is my favorite store! My extended family came to my house for dinner last night for my mom’s birthday, and every time someone asked where I got a serving dish, etc, my answer was always, “Home Goods!” 😁
