Whip It Up Wednesday: Mississippi Mud Brownies

Happy Whip It Up Wednesday!  This is an easy crowd pleaser because I just don’t know of many people that don’t like chocolate.  Then pair that chocolate with ooey-gooey marshmallows and a chocolate drizzle and it’s mouth-watering good!  This is definitely a favorite of mine because I am a huge marshmallow fan.IMG_3704

Grab a box of your favorite brownies for a 13×9 dish and bake as directed. I love sprinkling a handful of pecans over the top before baking, but that is optional.  After baking, pour an entire bag of the small marshmallows over the top and put back in the oven for 5 minutes.  Then you can do one of two things…  You can grab a bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup (yes, like the kind you put in your child’s milk) and drizzle over the top.  This makes it super easy and quick.

Or, you can make this super yuuuummy icing to drizzle on the top.  This icing is also very, very good over a devil’s food cake.

1 (16oz) package of powdered sugar

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup softened butter

1/3 cup sweetened cocoa

Beat all ingredients together with a mixer until smooth and drizzle over warm cake.  *make sure it’s still warm for best results.  No need to spread.  Just drizzle over as much as you can and let soak in.  Marshmallows with still peek through in some areas.  And I like a few extra sprinkles of pecans to make it pretty.  I think this recipe is best when served immediately and warm.  The gooeyness is beyond amazing!

As always, if you try it, please let me know what you think.

Also, I have had several reach out to me with prayer requests and these are the messages that mean the most to me.  I keep a list of specific needs and call those names before the Lord on a daily basis.  Please let me know if I can pray with you about anything!  Love you all and enjoy the little things like ooey-gooey marshmallows paired with chocolate!

  1. Our small group meets tonight and it’s my turn to take dessert so I tried your recipe this afternoon. I did one pan with walnuts and one without. I’ve already snuck a little bite out of the corner of the pan, and it’s delicious!!!! My group will LOVE this! Thanks!
