Happy Whip It Up Wednesday, friends! Today I am sharing one of my husband’s favorite desserts, hence why it was the perfect dessert for Father’s Day. This is a great recipe because you can really change it up with different flavors for the third layer.
I have always made this recipe with chocolate pudding for the third layer, but I have also had it with blueberry pie filling and it is really yummy too. That would be the perfect option for a 4th of July dessert. You could decorate the top with strawberries and blueberries to look like a flag or even just sprinkle them on top. Your third layer can be any flavor of pudding OR canned pie filling.
This is really an easy recipe to make, but there’s one tricky part and that’s the crust. After making it and putting it in your 13×9 pan, you almost think it’s not enough. You just have to keep pressing and spreading with your hands, pressing and spreading, pressing and spreading. Haha! You get the idea.
The recipe is at the bottom in a PDF file for you to print. Let me know if you try it and what you think. I have made this recipe for years and it has always been a crowd pleaser. I hope you all are enjoying your summer and making memories with your sweet families. It’s so hard to believe we are already towards the end of June. Soak it up, mommas! August is going to be here before we know it! I want to make as many memories as possible and that doesn’t always mean going places and spending money. It can be as simple as having a picnic in your backyard, having a water gun fight, making a fun dinner and eating outside and catching lightening bugs after dark. Just doing a little planning and being intentional is what it’s all about. Hugs to you all!
