More Elf Ideas

Happy Tuesday!   Are you in full-blown Christmas mode yet!? Today, I am sharing another year of our December 1, Christmas with Jolly tradition.  I believe this is our 5th year of doing it.   I wanted to give you plenty of ideas so you can hopefully start your own tradition, if you haven’t already.  And even if you don’t do the elf thing, wouldn’t it be fun to just do a December 1 Christmas kick-off!?

Every year we start with a fun breakfast, full of surprise breakfast goodies that isn’t our typical breakfast.  Krispy Kreme always has Christmas doughnuts and I often grab those, along with a few other things.  My toy surprises are usually from the dollar store or dollar aisle of Target.  One year I wrapped 25 books and that was their gifts.  We put them under the tree and unwrapped one a day for us to read together every day of December.  And, I believe I made Santa pancakes that year.  Anything out of the ordinary will bring big smiles.  Pancakes with whipped cream and Christmas sprinkles would be a fun and easy breakfast.

One tip I wanted to share, that I often do for parties, is line your table with a cute wrapping paper for the table runner if you don’t have a coordinating table cloth.  Of course, you don’t have to use either, but wrapping paper is always cute and cheap!  It just makes things a little more festive!  Some years I have used table cloths and other years have been with wrapping paper.

Tomorrow is Whip It Up Wednesday and it may involve our Grinch tradition. I don’t know about y’all, but my kids are CRAZY about The Grinch!
