Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was great and relaxing! I wanted to share our very simple play date from Thursday. I think this is our 4thyear of doing it and the kids ask about it every October. We typically set up in the back yard, but the rain made us move the plans to the basement. We didn’t let the rain spoil our fun!
We invited a few neighbors over to paint pumpkins. I asked the moms to bring their child a pumpkin and I supplied the paint and goodies. It was as easy as that! There have been years that I have made homemade treats, but this was not the year for that. Lol! I just needed to make it as easy as possible this year and ended up buying most everything. I did make the orange jello, if you want to call that making something and tossed together a chex mix.
Everything was super simple, but the kids had a blast and the tradition was not broken. And more importantly, we made a memory I think my kids will always remember! Throw parties, friends! Invite people into your home! It really does make the best memories in my opinion. I always remember people in and out of our home growing up and I feel like it is something that is getting lost in the current society we live in. My mom had the fancy dinner parties, but she also would bake a ham and pull out loaf bread, bags of chips and paper plates for family and friends too. Or even better, everyone just brought a dish. It can be as simple or fancy as you’d like, but just do it. I don’t think it will be something you will ever regret. Have the best day!
