Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend with your sweet family and friends! We had a relaxing weekend with family and it was wonderful. It is finally starting to feel like Fall in Alabama and we even built a fire. I looooved it! Makes my heart so happy!
Today I’m sharing details and pictures of my neighborhood bunco party I hosted on Thursday. This is something I started when I moved to the neighborhood and barely knew anyone. I had met 2 girls, but honestly didn’t know them very well, but enough to call and see if they could meet me for dinner in hopes of discussing starting a bunco group. We met and they liked the idea and we have been going strong for a couple of years now.
I did this exact same thing in my last neighborhood. I knew no one and really wanted to form relationships with my neighbors. I knew one girl, who knew another girl, who knew another girl and you get the idea. I have moved from that neighborhood, but a couple of those girls are still some of my closest friends. I LOVE knowing and forming relationships with my neighbors. I have also been in a bunko group with co-workers and this is fun, too. So, it doesn’t have to be your neighbors necessarily, but I would highly recommend it if you live in a neighborhood. There are times that I have needed these neighbors for maybe a cup of sugar, meeting my little guy at the bus stop because I’m picking up sister, grabbing something at the grocery store, etc. There is just so much value in knowing and building relationships with your neighbors, not to mention the friendships and closeness that it forms. It’s so comforting to know I can call on these girls and they are literally right around the corner.
If you know nothing about bunco, there are typically 12 girls and you play 1 time a month. So, you only host 1 time a year. It is so much fun and something I always look forward to each month! Here are some pictures from the other night.
I had a cheeseball and orange punch for starters. Then lasagna, Italian salad, garlic bread, pumpkin crisp, chocolate pound cake, and homemade whipped cream. I wish I had thought to get more pictures of the food. Then we headed to the back patio to play and I had a bar cart with apple cider and Halloween candy. It’s always so much fun! We had a blast.
I always love a party favor! I found these mugs at Target and just added a vinyl monogram to them. Then Betty Crocker is making these mug treats you cook right in your coffee mug. You add water or milk and cook it in the microwave. So fun! I just added one to each mug, along with my favorite paper shred that makes everything happier!
If you live in a neighborhood and don’t really know a lot of your neighbors, just something to think about. It sure has been fun! Have the best day, friends! Praying for you!
Im in a bunco group also and we have the best time getting together monthly for laughs and some fun! Cute idea on the mugs also!
